Geriatrics for Family Medicine Residents

Overview

Family Practice Physicians will encounter older patients with a variety of medical presentations. The Program in Geriatric works with the Family Medicine Residency Program to educate these physicians about the unique medical needs of older patients.

Topics of particular focus include:

• Polypharmacy
• Cognitive issues
• Function and quality of life
• Psychosocial aspects of aging, including issues of elder mistreatment
